't seem like there is any change on the way. sandhya patel is here now. >> no, no big changes are on the way. we are not expecting snow in the sierra and no rain in the bay area at least for the next 10 days. i looked at the extended models. the computer models are not indicating any wet weather coming anytime soon. the snowpack one year ago was 212% of normal. as the survey was done today 19% of normal to the north and 21% of normal. we just mentioned central sierra 13% and the southern sierra, 26% of normal. the department of water resources management are saying we do have good reservoir storage. right now we are still hoping obviously for some snow in the next couple months, and hopefully that will help the situation. from the heavenly camera, 8300 foot elevation, and this is just from an hour or so ago. there is no snow there. not a lot going on. just man made snow. but they had record heat in tahoe again today. the temperature in the lake tahoe area, 58 degrees. it is hard to get snow when you have record warmth. temperatures in the 40s and the 50s right now, and the fog

%. >>> a lot of sunshine here, but wet weather to the north of us. >> sandhya patel is keeping an eye on all of it. >> yes, the rain has shifted to the north of us. as you look at live doppler 7hd, crescent city is getting wet right now. half an inch of rain has fallen. the last several storms here in the bay area certainly helping boost our percent of normal. here is the latest, santa rosa is over 11 inches of rain. 57 percent of normal. san francisco and oakland 48% of normal and san jose is 33% of average. so, yes, we are still running behind. but it is certainly not as behind as we were a week or two ago when we were 20 to 30% of normal. so definitely the recent rain has made a difference. and the sierra snowpack is now 40% of average. it was 10% of normal. look at the storm totals. soda springs over four feet of snow. these are the totals. sugar bowl in the 50s. and as you can see there is tahoe and 48 inches and bear valley, 39 inches of snow. winter is taking a break, at least for the next 7 days. we are in a dry forecast. the temperatures in the 40s and 50s. we do have high clouds ou

to be mild and beautiful. >> really unusual for january. sandhya patel is here now. >> it is unusual. the calendar says winter but it felts like the spring. we have records 72 in santa rosa. record high of 69 in oakland moffett field, livermore. these were all records santa rosa and livermore were ties. half moon bay santa cruz hitting 70 degrees today, hard to believe. 67 in napa clear lake. 66 in ukiah and concord. down toward san jose 64 today. it was a beautiful day here in the bay area. we had records. there were records in other parts of the state as well. down to southern california we go and san gabriel 91 degrees. 91. that's not a typo. 85 in los angeles and 88 degrees in long beach. it is an area of high pressure with a down sloping wind. it is an offshore flow that provided us with the warmth in the bay area today. and you probably noticed the high clouds this afternoon. we expected them. the high clouds are made up of ice crystals and they provided these beautiful sunsets. this is is a pretty
